360 Success, conducting team 360°

Team 360°: an individual and collective process.

Although 360°s were designed to help individuals develop their leadership skills, the use of these tools with teams is very relevant. The process is very simple : each team member conducts their own 360° feedback.

They then receive their own individual feedback report, which will be reviewed by each of them with a coach during an individual feedback session. That’s all for the individual part of the process.

Then individual results are aggregated anonymously into a team feedback report where averages of the scores of the team members are presented. Team members don’t have to complete any separate or additional questionnaires.

These team results are analyzed to identify strengths and vulnerabilities of the team.

The team's results are presented during a workshop to reflect on the implications of the results and actions to be taken as a team.

Developping internal and external leadership of the team.

A team 360° is helpful and relevant as soon as a team – whether an executive team or not – is questioning its internal way of working as a team or its impact and wishes to enhance its leadership:

  • Its internal leadership: developing the leadership skills of its team members.
  • Its external leadership: increasing the team impact across the organization.

When does a team 360° help?

Here are some examples of needs commonly addressed by 360° feedbacks for teams:

  • We’re in the process of changing our business strategy. Are we strong where required with regards to the new strategy? Do we possess as a team the leadership competencies needed to successfully implement this new strategy?
  • How is the leadership of our team perceived by people outside the team? By our employees? By cross-functional teams? If applicable, by the higher levels of the hierarchy? Where are the expectations of these different stakeholders highest?
  • As a team, do we demonstrate the whole range of leadership competencies or do we have some vulnerabilities that we need to address together?

And each and every team has its own questions and issues. What are yours?

It all starts with what's at stake.

360 Success' team 360° process is quite simple: we organize a meeting, typically with HR and the team head, to understand your current situation, your context, your challenges, and your goals. Then, each team member completes their own 360°. After aggregation and analysis of team 360° data, 360 Success organizes a workshop with the whole team to present team results. All results are reviewed with the whole team and their implications are discussed. The team workshop is wrapped up with the creation of a team development plan.

Follow-up with team coaching if needed.

If the team needs further support for the implementation of its development plan or to work on other issues, 360 Success offers team coaching to help teams in the longer run address their leadership challenges.
